I was robbed of presidential ticket in 2007 - Markafi


Alhaji Ahmed Markafi said he was denied PDP's ticket in 2007 elections without any reason

- Markarfi who was a former PDP national chairman is also one of their presidential aspirants

- He urged the party delegates to remember his sacrifices for the survival of the party and pick him as the party's candidate

Alhaji Ahmed Markafi, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, has revealed how he was denied the party's ticket in 2007 without any reason.

Markafi who was a former PDP national chairman said this on Monday, August 13, in Asaba when he met with PDP delegates for the forthcoming national convention of the party.

While listing his achievements and sacrifices for the PDP, makarfi urged the party delegates to remember his sacrifices for the survival of the party and pick him as the party's candidate for the top position in the country.

"I am not an opportunist. In 2007, I was basically the presumed candidate to take over from President Olusegun Obasanjo. But for some reasons, person who was behind me in the ballot was selected, "the former governor of Kaduna state said

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that chairman of PDP national caretaker committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, on Sunday, October 15 said the PDP will return elected as the president of Nigeria in 2019.

Makarfi said this during his appearance on Channels Television’s weekend political programme.
