Beware Of Fake APC Registration Website, Party Tells Nigerians

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Nigerians to be mindful of a fake membership registration website trending on the social media.

In a statement on Sunday by its acting National Publicity Secretary, Mr Yekini Nabena, the APC alleged that the website was sponsored by a group of individuals to divert its supporters ahead of the forthcoming elections.

It said, “We are alerting our supporters, members and indeed, the general public to a purported membership registration website of the All Progressives Congress (APC) — apcregistration.com. The website which is trending on social media is unauthorised and a scam.”

“Our internal investigation has revealed that the fake website is sponsored by one of the main opposition political parties in its desperate and criminal plot to harvest APC members ahead of the 2019 general elections,” the APC added.

The ruling party said it deliberately did not name the political party in question and called on relevant security agencies to urgently investigate the website and its sponsors.

It also called on its supporters and members to take advantage of the ongoing continuous nationwide membership registration exercise in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The APC explained that the exercise would include both fresh registration and revalidation of existing membership for the purposes of issuance of the permanent membership cards.
