Destiny's Child singer, Michelle Williams, has voluntarily checked herself into a California mental health facility to seek help for her struggle with depression.

TMZ reports that the 37-year-old singer is being treated in a facility just outside of Los Angeles and has been there for the past several days.

Michelle who has been open about her mental health struggles spoke about it in the past, telling Rolling Out in 2013: “For years growing up, I thought someone getting treatment and counseling was really crazy or had personality disorders, but it’s really for normal people that have some issues that they need answers to.”

In a statement on Tuesday, Michelle who famously reunited with her former girl groupBeyonce and Kelly Rowland at Coachella in April, said: "For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it's time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing."
