Ahmad Salkida insists the Nigerian army suffered huge loss of lives in latest boko haram attack; Says he lost an in-law in the attack

Yesterday, the Nigerian army denied reports that it lost 23 men to a boko haram ambush in Borno state.

Journalist, Ahmad Salkida says that contrary to the army's denials, they suffered heavy losses in the attack.

He says his wife lost a relative in the attack and he has pictures to back up his claims. He also alleges that while media attention is focused on the 23 dead soldiers, over a hundred soldiers lost their lives in a separate boko haram attack.

Addressing the army's denials, he referenced a similar situation in 2015 where the authorities refused to acknowledge the deaths of 144 soldiers and criticised him for reporting the story only to hold an event in honour of the slain soldiers three years later.
